Here they are! I love the excitement of seeing film pictures for the first time, it’s almost like a opening a present. But what I love more than anything are the happy accidents that you only get with film. Some of the good ones I’ll share, all the rubbish ones I’ll keep to myself.
Bad, bad, bad. I’ve abandoned the blog.
The internet at home is still not working (bloody BT). But I rather not talk about it for now.
I’ve been on holidays to Salcombe-Devon (pictured) and Malaga-Spain (pictures to come) . God bless the seaside! So good to smell fresh air and eat fresh food. And my mum was in London visiting for 10 days!
Back to reality now, I will post more when BT decides they should give me a working phone line since I’m paying them.
The internet hasn’t been a good friend lately. Orange says it will be back on Friday. I’m still mad at BT.
But no worries, mum came all the way from Brazil to visit so it’s all good and busy.
A little random drawing to clear out the mid week blues.
Last Saturday I went to V&A, and had a very long afternoon on my own looking at beautiful things. I got lost a few times and at some point found myself at the Theatre and Performance section, very very interesting and inspiring. Costumes from Hamlet to Mick Jagger’s white jumpsuit. Their current exhibition, ‘Telling Tales’, is small and quirky, I spotted some interesting things such as a boat-shaped bath, a tree-wardrobe and a cupboard house/bed.
Well, I could go on and on about what I saw and liked the most, but I rather recommend everyone to go, and go again. Unfortunately my charger was at work so my camera didn’t go with me - no pictures to help me share this. Fortunately, yesterday I was coming back from the dentist and I had my camera (now charged) on me when I spotted this poster by Noma Bar:
When I was a kid I spent far too many hours playing cards. Specially during the summer. Blame my grandmother. So when I saw these for £3 in a charity shop, nostalgia hit me hard and I couldn’t resist. Love the pattern on the cards and the ‘book theme’ for the box.
This chilly and rainy weather has been playing games with my mind. Xmas seems to be closer. Not good. I still didn’t get my fair share of summer, will have to start plan B. Plan a holiday.
Meanwhile, scenes of last xmas. (I was just a guest, the lovely table is the work of the host)
The poster is everywhere to be seen (in London at least) and the papers keep going on about it. It is truly great. Go see, don’t read the reviews. Read them after. Just go.
And going to see it at the cinema really makes a difference here. Had I watched it at home I’m sure I’d still love it, but this one justifies the big screen.
Photography is great. Gets people hooked. Specially now that digital cameras made it so much easier. And mistakes so much cheaper. I’m not as good I would like to be. But I do it anyway. Here is where I keep some of them: photo box
